Thousands Protest Ariz. Law, Demand Immigration Reform
(Chicago Sun Times) — Their zip code was in Illinois, but a state 1,700 miles west was on the minds of thousands of marchers today at the annual May Day rally and march for immigration reform in Chicago. Outrage over Arizona’s SB1070, which requires immigrants to always carry documentation and police to question anyone suspected of being undocumented, drove tens of thousands to rallies and marches in Chicago, the suburbs and around the country.
