(Press Release) – SESAC, the nation’s fastest growing performing rights organization, will present multi-talented artist/songwriter/producer Kasseem “Swizz Beatz” Dean with the “Inspiration Award”  at the “14th Annual SESAC New York Music Awards” on May 12, 2010 at the IAC Building in New York City.  The “Inspiration Award” is in recognition of Beatz’s humanitarian work raising money and awareness for Haiti relief, specifically on “Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour)”, the song he co-wrote and co-produced with U2’s Bono and also recorded by the Irish rock singer along with Jay-Z and Rhianna. The song, a moving a call to action to aid the earthquake victims of Haiti, went on to become a top selling download at iTunes raising millions for the cause. Swizz Beatz has also worked with the United Nations to unite the entertainment community in its efforts to promote peace around the world.

Swizz Beatz , an in-demand songwriter and producer for a wide variety of artists such as Beyonce, Whitney Houston, Ludacris and Lil Wayne among many others, started his musical career as a teenage prodigy creating hits for the likes of DMX, Eve and Jay-Z.  Swizz began to produce tracks at the age of 16 and sold his first beat at 20which became the label’s first chart breaking hit, DMX’s “Stop, Drop”.
