The Wall Street Journal launches its long awaited New York edition today, adding a stand-alone section full of local news in its bid to become more of a general-interest paper—and challenge The New York Times.
In response, the Times has made New York private schools a regular beat, started a new weekday real estate column, and begun an ad campaign to tout its strengths as a New York paper.
