Remember Keshia Chante. She’s a singer and was also the host of “106 & Park.” It’s been a while since we’ve heard her name. But today she and her former fiance, are in the news for their souring relationship.
Keshia Chante’s ex-fiance, former NHL player Ray Emery was arrested last month for allegedly getting into a physical altercation with Chante last year.
Emery was arrested on September 18 in Hamilton, Ontario.
According to TMZ, before his arrest, Chante had gone to authorities requesting a restraining order against Emery. She claimed that he had abused her on several different occasions from July-September 2016.
Sources say Chante presented enough evidence for police to determine that a warrant for his arrest was necessary
Emery was arrested for using a deadly weapon and uttering a threat. He has been released on bail and he’s due back in court later this month. Emery played in the NHL for 11 years and won the Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks.
The couple dated for 7 years and were engaged until this past summer when Chante publicly announced that they’d called off their wedding with an Instagram post.
Best of luck to her moving forward. Thankfully, she had the strength to leave the relationship instead of getting married, hoping it got better.
