Let’s face it, motherhood is a balancing act. From getting our busy and super talkative kids prepared for school to wiping away runny noses at bedtime – moms with an “S” on their chest do it all. We have no choice. Even during the snooze button struggle – a little birdie whispers “meals need to get whipped up and homework assignments need to be cross checked.” With all the responsibilities that come with parenting, it is no wonder that moms complain about feeling drained and burned out. In an effort to help everyday sheroes make it through – Madamenoire has some recommendations in the honor thyself department.

Splurge without Guilt

If you can hit the mall and not worry about the sweaters the kids need or new lunch boxes for school – then do it. After all of the hard work that you put in daily – honor yourself with a small shopping spree. Purchase your favorite jeans, make-up, hair products or maybe a big-ticket item like a car! Whatever your heart desires – do not feel guilty. Don’t forget the receipt!

Kick It Kid Free!

After kids, we often forget what it is like to be in girlfriend mode. Honor yourself and your girls by hosting a mom’s only outing at a local hot spot. Have an Insta-worthy cocktail, eat a meal that you probably wouldn’t make at home, catch up on the latest celeb and political tea, and reclaim your time. The rule of thumb for your night out without the little ones is to do it big! You deserve it! Cell phones on silent.

Hang Out with the Hubs

They say kids change the flow of relationships. At Madamenoire, we beg to differ. The same way you honor yourself, honor your hubby. Why? Because the man of the house is probably putting in just as much work as you are on the parenting front. We recommend taking some much-needed time with your first love to ignite some flames. Try finding a sitter or family member willing to handle the kids for a few hours — or days. Sounds like a long-awaited second honeymoon to us. Now that’s honoring yourself times two.

Work It Out

Hanging out and eating your favorite dishes is a good way to boost your spirits. However, a better way with long-term benefits is to honor yourself by working out! Moms, we don’t mean your problems, we mean your body. Getting fit is a wonderful way to reduce stress, improve your health and feel your best. We suggest taking up a yoga or dance class to release built up tension and get in touch with yourself!

Pamper Yourself and Stay on Beat

Moms, our days are filled with many demands – as we have stated over-and-over, however, we shouldn’t skip out on pampering our bodies and hair. Maintaining our mane is important, so for days when you have to get up and roll – we suggest that you wash your hair thoroughly (spend extra time in the shower and lather away) and clear your thoughts. Balancing all that goes on in your world is vital to your health. Honor yourself.
