In July we told you that popular singer and songwriter Terius “The-Dream” Nash and wife Lalonne were expecting their third child together. The new addition would be the eighth child for the “Shawty Is a 10” crooner. Martinez announced the news when she was already 35 weeks:

Fast forward a few weeks and the baby is finally here. The Nash family welcomed a baby girl on Monday, August 14, and her name is Maverick. When sharing the news of her arrival, The-Dream remarked on the fact that while she may not have been planned, she was definitely a blessing. According to him, she’s “living proof IUDs might not work.”

For the record, Lalonne also spoke about her IUD slip-up in an Instagram post for her newborn. “Happy Birthday Maverick! Our precious baby girl is here!” she said. “You were determined to be here. My IUD couldn’t stop your spirit & being. Truly Blessed!!!”

How cute is she?

As we mentioned, baby Maverick is the third child for the Nash gang. They have already have sons Heir, born in 2015, and Lord, born in 2016. With Maverick’s arrival, that makes back-to-back-to-back births. Now it makes sense that he shared an image at Lalonne’s baby shower with the caption, “barely breathe on you I swear.”

The-Dream also has a son with ex Lydia Nam, daughter Violet with second wife Christina Milian, as well as twin sons London and Christian and daughter Talia with first wife, singer Nivea.

Having eight kids isn’t as tough as one might assume, especially if you’re as wealthy as the super producer and songwriter. In 2010, when expecting daughter Violet with then-wife Christina Milian, he admitted that having major coinage made parenting much less stressful.

“This time’s easier because I’m rich now,” he told People at the time. “When I had my 5-year-old, I was up all night and paying for milk with the last couple of cents I had, so it’s a little easier now.”

So baby Maverick is quite the blessing for The-Dream and Lalonne, and a reminder that if you’re using an IUD, you might want to keep your options open for some other methods of contraception just in case.
