It’s pretty well known that Rick Ross doesn’t have all that much respect for women. But then again, in rap, how many men do?

It was only a few years ago that he found himself in hot water for rapping about putting a date rape drug in a woman’s drink. But it was pretty gross to hear Ross’s excuse as to why, out of all the male rappers and artists he’s signed to the Maybach Music Group (MMG), he hasn’t helped any female rappers or singers get on. (For the record, singer Teedra Moses was said to be on the label, but she stated in 2013 that she was never officially signed.) He told the Breakfast Club that he feels like he wouldn’t be able to focus on business and at some point, would need to sleep with the artist — especially if he’s spending money on her.

“You know, I never did it because I always thought I would end up f–king the female rapper,” he said. “F–king the business up. I’m so focused on my business. I gotta be honest with you. You know, she’s looking good and I’m spending so much money on her photo shoots, I got to f–k her a couple times.”

There are exceptions, though. For instance, if you’re a talented female rapper he’s watched grow up, like a Brianna Perry, he can put business in the forefront.

“If she was a youngster that I felt she was bringing something to the table that dope, you know what I’m saying… just like it’s a female artist that I’ve watched her whole life in the same position was Brianna [Perry] in Miami,” he said. “So shout out to Brianna. That’s special…she’s family to me.”

Another exception is someone like Trina, who had been in a relationship with a “big homie” he has respect for. So out of respect for her as well, he sticks to the music, as the two have worked on songs together.

“She most definitely is someone I would love to vibe with on that level but she had a situation with someone who was a big homie in my city…so I’m just one of those dudes who if you rocked with one of my homies, cool,” he said. “I’ma spare you. I was able to just focus on music and the records.”

But he made clear that if the prospective female MC was Breakfast Club co-host Angela Yee, he wouldn’t be able to contain himself.

“I was just talking in general,” Ross said. “If I signed you or something, I would have to knock you down.”

Ew.
