On April 28, Ciara gave birth to her second child and husband Russell Wilson’s first. Sienna Princess Wilson has been in the world for a little over a month now, and Ciara is already on a mission to get back to her pre-baby weight.
We haven’t seen much of her since she gave birth, but the 31-year-old mother of two let us in on her progress, stating that her goal for this week is to drop 10 pounds:
Coincidentally, the mother of two also gained 60 pounds while pregnant with Future and while recovering from giving birth to her son. As she told SHAPE, “When I was pregnant with Future, one thing I learned quickly was, don’t ever let a pregnant lady be hungry, because when I was, I was like the Tasmanian Devil. I indulged in all the good food the world has to offer. After he was born—when I couldn’t exercise yet—I kept eating, and I gained 60 pounds.”
But the best motivation for Ciara right now should be the fact that she lost those 60 pounds in a span of months. She showed off her hard work and hard abs in Calvin Klein underwear in 2014:
To make this happen, Ciara worked out extensively with trainer Gunnar Peterson, sometimes three times a day, and she followed it up with a clean eating plan. But like all new moms, she started off slow. Still, she knew that she didn’t want to just snap back, but take her body to a level it’s never been before.
“You go from the mommy gym at home to the real gym and then you go to the stage,” she said to Us Weekly. “For me it’s all about not only getting back into the place that I was in before. I had a baby but now, going even further. I want to be one of those moms and women that when I look back, I know that I always stayed focused. And I think it’s about keeping your eyes on the prize.”
