On Monday, word began spreading that famed Emmy-award winning hairstylist Antwon Jackson had died. Known as a “wigologist,” Jackson was the creative hand behind the many wigs of Wendy Williams and yesterday evening the talk show host publicly shared her condolences over her friend’s death on Facebook, writing:

It is with a heavy heart that I share with all of you the death of Antwon Jackson, my wigologist. He was an Emmy winning stylist and so much more. He was my friend. He had the biggest heart and was a pleasure to work with. I will forever be thankful for your friendship and love, Antwon. Thank you for the laughter you brought into my life and your sweet smile that always brightened my day. May you rest in peace.

Crystal Wright, a longtime friend of Jackson’s confirmed the death of the 44 year old to NJ.com. Though she couldn’t comment on a cause of death or rumors Jackson suffered from Lupus, Wright did share that he had just returned from vacation in Mexico with fiance and fellow hairstylist, Dontay Savoy.

“He was a joy to be around,” Wright said. “He never had a negative word to say about anyone. He was always upbeat. He always had a smile on his face … Antwon was the first person to jump up and say, ‘I’m going to help you with that.’ He was a Southern guy with New York aesthetics.”

Ironically, Jackson’s last Instagram post was a tribute to his work with Wendy Williams, as he showcased the many wigs he created for her and his excitement over the next season of her show.

Our thoughts are with Savoy and the 25-year-old son Jackson leaves behind.
