Realizing you’ve found your person—the person who can make you happier than anybody in the world, the person who understands you better than anybody could, and the person who makes you feel like he’s the reason you were meant to be here—can elicit some pretty strong emotions. Anytime we have strong emotions, we have weird dreams. But don’t freak out just because your dreams are, well, freaky. Fiercely loving somebody and caring about somebody is wrapped up with other emotions, like the fear of losing them, the fear of disappointing them, the hopes of what you’ll do in the future and more. When you’re awake, you’re working with your conscious brain, so you choose only to focus on the positive feelings, like how lucky and happy you are to have this person. But when your unconscious brain kicks in at night, it can bring the other feelings to light in your dreams. Here are 15 bizarre dreams you have when you find the one.

Going back in time
You wake up, and you’re in middle school, high school, college or your early childhood. You have this dream because you often think, “What if I’d never met this person! That’d be horrible.” This dream is a nightmare that takes you back to a time when you hadn’t yet met this person.

Being with an ex
In your waking brain, you probably think a lot about how happy you are you’re no longer with this ex, and how wonderfully different your current partner is from that ex. You do a lot of comparing, so it’s no surprise you have bad dreams where you are suddenly back with that ex.

Being very pregnant
This dream is usually related to your fear of being too attached to your partner. You realize you could really see a life with him, and that’s a bit scary. So in your dream, things move really fast, and you wake up with the largest attachment you could have to a human; his baby growing inside of you.

Having a hard time finding him
We all worry that life will get in the way of us spending time with or feeling connected to our partner. The dream where you are steps behind your partner but can’t reach him is usually related to that fear.
Living across the world
This is another dream related to the scary realities of chances and odds. The chances and odds that you found this person were slim, and yet you found him. It’s scary to think of all the ways this may not have happened! Like, if you had chosen to live in another city…So that’s what happens in the dream.
Breaking up
Anytime we care deeply about somebody we have nightmares about breaking up with them. It’s very normal and is in no way indicative of an impending breakup.

He’s cheating
When you find the one, you become territorial of him. To not be a psycho, and to allow for a functioning relationship, you don’t act out when you feel a little jealous of or threatened by other women. Instead, those feelings resurge in a nightmare about your partner cheating.
You’re cheating
This dream is related to your subconscious fears of disappointing your partner, or of not being good enough for him.

You’re about to marry the wrong person
This is another one related to the fact that you beat incredible odds to meet your partner. So you have a dream about a parallel universe in which you marry the wrong person, but understand within the dream that the right person is somewhere out there, and it’s terrifying!

You can’t make it to your wedding

Your best friend is with him
When you really find the one, it feels like you’ve known him your whole life. He fits right into your universe, your family and your friend’s circle. This dream is a strange manifestation of your understanding that this person was always meant to be a part of your close circle.
You’re watching your funeral
Your moments with this person are so precious. You found each other, and you want to spend as much time in this life together as possible! So, you probably have a lot of fears about missing out on time together. That’s what this dream is about—the fear that life will go by, and you won’t get to spend enough time with your boo.

Sex, interrupted
Your body goes through a lot of intense processes when you find the one. It becomes very chemically responsive and attached to that person. Your body craves them all of the time and almost cannot feel satisfied. The dream in which you keep almost getting to have sex but can’t is a manifestation of those feelings.

His death
This dream is a combination of the fear of missing out on time together and fear that you take your partner for granted. When you love someone so much, it’s common to fear that you’re not showing it enough. So you have a nightmare in which you have no more chances to show it.

Starting over
You probably love how close you and your partner have become. You know everything about each other! And sometimes you probably feel lucky that nothing went wrong in the bonding stages, that could have ended it all. This dream is a manifestation of the fear that, “Oh my gosh. If I had done this tiny thing differently, we wouldn’t be together.” So you dream of having to do it all over again.
