Last week, we wrote that Rob Hill Sr. and LeToya Luckett calling off their engagement. Well, turns out, it was a little bit more than that.
According to TMZ, in January, when we thought we were learning of an engagement, the two had actually tied the knot already. But after just a little over two months, they split.
TMZ learned that the divorce was recently finalized and both took very careful steps to keep things from getting messy in the public eye. It’s all very cordial considering, after two months, there was no property to split. There is a clause that mentions something about social media postings/public statements, specifically: neither will make public statements about each other or “provide photos, videos, recordings or other documents” to media outlets and blogs.
We’re wondering if Rob might have been in violation of that already by appearing on Lil Mo’s radio show.
What I think is most interesting about this bit of information is not only that the two never spoke of their marriage, but also the fact that when Rob was speaking about the breakup and the reason for it, he never acknowledged that it was more than an engagement.
He said specifically,
“We’re not getting married at this point…”
And then he continued, offering this as a reason for their split.
“There’s certain things that she needs to do over there, for herself. And there’s certain things that I need to do over here. And we’ve realized that we can’t do those together, right now.”
That type of talk might have made sense if we were talking about a situationship, a boyfriend-girlfriend type thing, even a premature engagement. But a marriage? Something tells me this rational isn’t entirely accurate.
