Relationships don’t always break down for deep and complex reasons. Sometimes, a breakup didn’t occur because somebody still needed a lot of therapy before they could be with another person, or because one person just wasn’t in love with the other. Sometimes women who feel very much in love with the man they’re with, leave for some pragmatic, simple, vein and even brutal reasons. Everybody has their dealbreakers. In some cases, no amount of love can help a woman overlook a dealbreaker staring her in the face. When thinking about, “Can I spend my life with this person?” some women say, “Nope” for reasons that might surprise you.

Unrealistic career goals

Some women leave a man because they foresee a major letdown coming in his career. He may be an office manager who wants to be a famous rapper, or a sales rep who wants to be an astronaut. And while there is a chance — a teeny, tiny one — that his dreams will come true, she can’t count on that chance. She can’t handle the thought of being with him through it if the dream doesn’t work out.

No career goals

Then you have women who leave men because they have no career goals at all. They’re not lazy or irresponsible–they have stable, unambitious jobs, and they’re genuinely happy with them. But for some women, that’s not enough.

He’s a workaholic

What’s the point of having a partner if you never get to spend time with him? It’s very sad, but it happens all of the time; a woman finds a man who she can really see herself growing old with, but he always chooses work over her, and she just doesn’t want to live like that.

He handles stress poorly

If a man loses his sh*t when he is under stress, women often won’t stand for it. If he becomes a recluse, stops communicating, or becomes short with her, she’ll go. It’s imperative that a partner can still function under stress because stress is everywhere.

He has a genetic condition

This is a heartbreaking scenario but one that happens sometimes. If a woman meets the man of her dreams, but he has a genetic condition that will almost definitely be passed onto his kids and make their lives very difficult, she may walk away.

He’s too close to his family

Some men are just wonderful…until you get them around their family. Then it’s evident that some weird brainwashing went on there when they were kids, and what their parents say will always trump what that man’s partner says.

He’s made terrible dating choices

If every single ex-girlfriend of your partner is a wreck — like she slashed his tires, she faked a pregnancy to get him to stay, she stalked him — and he doesn’t think it’s that bad, you gotta wonder what’s up. Many women won’t stick around, even if the guys seems perfectly normal.

He doesn’t like to go out

A man can be the most incredible partner one-on-one, but one-on-one is all his girlfriend gets, because he’s anti-social and doesn’t like to go out. This can leave a woman feeling like she has to live two lives; one with friends and one with her partner. Some women can’t live like that.

He has a low sex drive

If sex is one of your greatest joys in life, you probably can’t be happy with a partner who only wants to do it once a month. Many women leave for that reason. They’d rather leave than be tempted to cheat.

He doesn’t get jealous at all

Like, at all. The woman can go on a business trip, be forced to share a bedroom with a hot male coworker who has a crush on her, and her partner will say, “That’s cool.” And he means it. It’s petty, but some women need that oomph– they need to feel their partner would fight for them.

He won’t travel

If traveling the world and experiencing different cultures is important to you, then you may leave a man who never wants to leave the city. You’ll feel that you outgrow him quickly, and you’ll have to spend a lot of time apart because of your travels.

He won’t throw down

He will do anything to get out of a fight (physical or otherwise). He is wonderful, kind, and honest but he backs down when confrontation comes up. This is very unattractive to some women.

He has children

Some women meet the man of their dreams but he already has children, and that’s just not something the woman wants. At least not now.

He’s been divorced

There are a lot of women who always dreamed of being somebody’s first wife– being a second wife never fit into their vision and they won’t do it.

He is frugal

A man who constantly tries to get things for free and negotiate prices and wages down to an unfair number is a total turn off.
