Just how red does a red flag have to be for it to be a problem? When it comes to a new relationship, which behaviors are insignificant pet peeves, and which ones are problematic? Some behavior clearly screams “run for the hills,” but what about those red flags that fall into more of a gray area?

Not every man deserves to be an exception to the rule. But if you’ve found someone who’s perfect for you in every way — well, but in one or two ways, there’s no need to panic just yet. If you spot these warning signs, it might be best to adopt a wait and see policy.

Have you ever broken up with a man because of a red flag only to watch him upgrade himself the minute you parted ways? We’d love to hear your story in the comment section.

His Mother Doesn’t Love You

Sometimes moms have trouble letting go when they see their sons getting serious with someone. She might learn to like you after spending time with you. And even if she doesn’t, a truly good relationship (and a partner who sets boundaries) will have the strength to survive her disapproval.

When you go from dating to a live-in relationship really quickly, people are going to have things to say. But if other people’s opinions are the only doubts you have, it doesn’t mean that the feeling telling you to jump on in is necessarily wrong.
