TV One’s longest-running original series and fan favorite, Unsung, has profiled some of the most beloved artists over the years, giving music lovers the inside scoop on their untold stories. Shared predominantly via interviews with profiled artists and people closely associated with them, the five-time NAACP Image Award-winning docu-series never disappoints. And Unsung fans can now devour the equally successful spinoff, Unsung Hollywood.
But have you ever asked yourself, “Why don’t they do an Unsung on ___?” Chances are, you have. But not every artist believes they are unsung. Not to mention, when dealing with groups, not every member is on board with revealing information about their personal lives, let alone the drama that affected or derailed their careers.
That being said, if we had our way, we’d still like to see episodes on the following artists. Who would you add to this Unsung wish list?

KRS-One
A true hip-hop pioneer, both as a member of Boogie Down Productions and as a solo MC, the Teacha has been spitting rhymes for decades. And while we know KRS-One through his music, there’s a lot we have yet to learn about the man himself and his undoubtedly heady story.

Lisa Fischer
The “How Can I Ease The Pain?” singer has had a long career, both as a solo artist and as a background singer for artists like Luther Vandross and The Rolling Stones. Lisa Fischer was profiled with other powerhouse singers in the documentary film 20 Feet From Stardom, but there’s so much more we’d love to learn more about her life and career.

En Vogue
With hits like “Hold On,” “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It)” and “Free Your Mind” under their belt, En Vogue is one of the biggest and most successful groups of all time. They were hotter than hot, and then one day, the quartet became a trio (until they found a replacement). Don’t you want to know what led to their breakup? Or how they even came to be? So many questions!

Tevin Campbell
Child star Tevin Campbell filled our hearts and topped music charts, but his career stalled by the late ‘90s. That cessation was partly caused by his 1999 arrest for lewd conduct. But Campbell has been performing since then, and real fans know that his career is much more significant and lasting than his so-called scandal.

Tamia
Like Tevin Campbell, Tamia began her career as a Quincy Jones protégé. She solidified her musical presence with songs like “You Put A Move On My Heart,” “Stranger In My House,” and “Can’t Get Enough Of You,” but some diehard fans consider Tamia’s music and career to be underrated. She’s the perfect candidate for Unsung.

Lisa Stansfield
Did you know that “All Around The World” songstress Lisa Stansfield was in a band called Blue Zone before she began a solo career? Her amazing life story would be in great hands with Unsung.

Maxi Priest
A reggae aficionado with an R&B spin, Maxi Priest has been steadily making music for decades. Though his popularity has dwindled, he’s still a reigning musical champ and is truly easy to love.
MC Lyte
A true pioneer and one of the dopest MCs to rock the mic, MC Lyte has witnessed firsthand the many changes hip-hop has gone through over the years, and she’s still standing strong. Now a voice-over artist and philanthropist, there’s no doubt that MC Lyte’s Unsung would bring joy to countless fans.
Sade
An Unsung on Sade, an artist who has given so few interviews over the course of her decades-long career, is a definite stretch. We all know and love her music, but there’s a lot we don’t know about the sultry songstress personally.
Shabba Ranks
Shabba, a.k.a. Mr. Loverman, was huge in the ’90s…and then he fell off the face of the earth. What’s he been up to? Fans want to know!

Regina Belle
This year, Regina Belle released The Day Life Began, her first R&B album in 15 years. In that time, she survived a brain tumor and watched her five children grow into adults. Whether singing R&B, jazz or gospel, Ms. Belle can surely do it all.
