Nothing But Melted Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioner

MM Products

Last month, I told you ladies about my natural hair struggles. After frequenting a salon for over a year, the stylist started to play with the prices whenever I came in for a wash and set with my hair in its natural state. To put it simply, she wanted to charge me twice what I was paying when I came in with my hair straight, which didn’t make much sense because once she washed it, she was working on the same hair whether I walked in with it already pressed or if I walked in with an old twist out.

After reading about my situation, many of you suggested that I learn to do my own hair to avoid situations like this. Initially, I was apprehensive. I had tried to wash and straighten my own hair in the past, but I could never mimic the voluminous results that I’m used to getting when I go to the professionals. However, I decided to give it another shot and I’m so darn happy that I did. Thanks to YouTuber Sekoya Hicks, I’ve found a blow drying and flat ironing technique that has been working wonders for me.

Anyhoo, on to the point of this post. In the past, I’ve been guilty of overloading my hair with products to ensure that it’s properly moisturized before I blow dry and straighten it, but as most of you know, applying too much product weighs your hair down tremendously, which affects how much body it will have once it’s pressed. On the flip side, failing to properly moisturize your hair, especially before applying heat, leads to crunchy, dry hair and breakage. However, I believe that I have discovered a product that solves this problem. Lately, I’ve been applying Sofn’free GroHealthy’s Nothing But Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioner and it’s been working like pure magic. I love that I don’t have to apply a lot of it in order for my hair to be properly moisturized. I can also appreciate the fact that it doubles as a heat protectant. The biggest bonus, however, has been that I’m experiencing a lot less breakage and shedding, which I believe is partially due to my use of Nothing But Shea Butter.

M&M Products, the company behind the brand, claims that the leave-in is supposed to soften and detangle natural hair. I can honestly say that this product does exactly that. I’ve received so many compliments on how soft, shiny and healthy my hair looks since I’ve been using this product that I felt compelled to write a review. I’m sort of a product junkie, so I have plenty of leave-in conditioners to choose from. This particular product sat in my cabinet for nearly two years before I finally decided to use it. For some reason, I was underestimating what it could do, but I’m really happy that I gave it a chance because I now swear by it.
