Ever so often, discussions surrounding Countess Vaughn’s body resurface on social media. Whether it’s talk of her racy Instagram photos or her decision to go under the knife, people always seem to have something snarky or negative to say about the actress. The naysayers never really appear to lower Vaughn’s confidence though. In fact, it seems that their comments do just the opposite. The “Hollywood Divas” star is known for boasting about the love she has for herself and recently, she took that self-love a step further by making strides to improve her health.
With the help of liposuction, Vaughn was able to shed three dress sizes, but instead of simply using the procedure for instant gratification, she decided to adjust her eating habits and practice portion control.
“I watch what I eat, and I’m into snacking now,” said Vaughn, who, according to People, didn’t see significant progress after the procedure due to thyroid issues. “I used to just eat maybe once or twice [a day] – breakfast and then dinner, maybe skip lunch. But now I try to snack, have some nuts, have some yogurt.”
The mother and wife also admits that she had to lay off of one of her favorite foods: fried chicken.
“There are still times that I want it, but I have to watch it,” says the former Moesha star. “Instead of getting three pieces, I’ll have one piece and walk away.”
In addition to getting her eating in check, the 37-year-old has also incorporated exercise into her weekly routine.
“I’ve been working out and taking care of me so I can have energy for my kids and work,” she said. “I put my music on, and I just walk for 30 to 45 minutes. I’m very appreciative now that my body is responding to the workouts and the diet, so I just have to keep on moving.”
