You know how you and other women have an understood woman code? Well men have one, too. And when you do these following things with your male friends, you’re in a way breaking the male code—or forcing your male friend to. Your boyfriend knows that your male friends interpret the following actions very differently than you intend them. Here are 15 things your boyfriend doesn’t want you doing with your male friends.

Complain about your relationship
Your boyfriend knows that most men interpret a woman complaining to them about her relationship as a sign that she wants to be rescued from that relationship. From the guy she’s complaining to. Bad message.

Tell them about your sex life
No matter how long you’ve known your best male friend, your boyfriend doesn’t want you sharing your sex life with that buddy. Your male friend pictures you naked when you do this, and your boyfriend knows this. He also pictures your boyfriend naked when you share these stories. Your boyfriend knows that too. It’s all very weird.

Ask for sex tips
Sure, your male friend knows exactly what men like in bed. But so do plenty of other guys who don’t personally know your boyfriend. Ask them instead. Your boyfriend doesn’t want to know you got that super cool new oral trick from…Joe or Cameron or whoever.

Sit on their lap
You think it’s playful and innocent. Your boyfriend, on the other hand, knows that your vagina is separated from your friend’s penis only by cloth.

Call them to cry before him
If you call your male friend to cry about something before you call your boyfriend, your boyfriend will wonder if you’re having an emotional affair with that friend.

Call them to celebrate before him
Shouldn’t your partner be the first person you want to call when something good happens? If you call your male friend first, your boyfriend will feel slighted.
Force them to befriend your boyfriend
Don’t force your male friend to make friends with your boyfriend or visa versa. If they want to be friends it will happen naturally. They’re not your puppets.

Have them pick out your boyfriend’s clothes
If your male friend helps you pick out a sweater for your boyfriend, fine, just don’t let your boyfriend know that. Guys get weirded out by the thought of another man dressing them.

Take endless selfies together
It’s fine if you want to take photos with your male friend, but if you take more than you take with your boyfriend, people will look at your Facebook and wonder, “And which one is her boyfriend?”

Your boyfriend does not want other men paying for your meals/drinks etc. It makes him feel like they probably think he can’t provide for you.

Call them to pick you up, before him
You didn’t want to inconvenience your boyfriend, so you called your male friend to pick you up from the bar. But when your boyfriend gets word he’s going to say, “Now your friend thinks I’m not there for you.”

If your guy friend is sad at 2am, he’s going to have to call somebody else. You have a boyfriend now. You’re sleeping next to him at 2am.

Let your male friend date whoever he wants. Even if you’re not nuts about his girlfriend, you can’t say anything because your boyfriend will think you’re jealous.

Why would your boyfriend want your male friend to spend hours focusing on your body? The shapes that look good on it, whether or not a pair of jeans is too tight, if a tank top is too low…Come on now.

Sleep in their bed
Even if you know it’s totally innocent, and you just needed a place to crash after a night of drinking, don’t sleep in your guy friend’s bed. Sleep on his couch or on the floor. How would you like it if your boyfriend slept in a bed with another woman? Exactly.
