Ten-year-old Kaycee Rice from Simi Valley, California has just become Internet famous thanks to a tweet from singer Katy Perry. A video of the girl dancing in a hip-hop competition to Shangela Laquifa’s “Werkin’ Girl” (she won, obviously) went out to Perry’s 38 million Twitter followers and the video has garnered tons of views.

In an interview with the UK’s DailyMail, Kaycee’s dance teacher mother Laura Rice said her daughter is just a normal kid who loves to dance. “She performs it and leaves and her hair looks like she’s just climbed out of bed, like a normal kid.”

But normal kids don’t get a chance to dance onstage and in music videos with Missy Elliot protege Sharaya. That’s because Kaycee is definitely an uncommon talent who studies ballet, tap and jazz in addition to hip-hop after school. But while she’s undoubtedly good at what she does, is she doing too much for her age? Mom says it’s really not a big deal. “‘I don’t worry about the moves as Kaycee doesn’t have a thought about what they are. She’s innocent and she’s not putting two and two together. It’s her being her, it’s the way she moves and that’s just her dance.” Her famous routine is definitely grown-up, as are her clothes.

Is it too much too young? Let us know!
