Don’t ever think that Phylicia Rashad has stopped collecting checks out here. According to Variety, our favorite television mom is coming to the new CBS drama “For Justice.”

Rashad will play a gay woman named Georgia Howe in the series’ pilot.

And to make a good story even sweeter, the pilot will be directed by Selma’s Ava DuVernay.

Howe, Rashad’s character, is being described as a “savvy Washington player who has faced discrimination for her race and sexual orientation, and fights to protect the independence and integrity of her high-profile Civil Rights Division.”

The show is based on James Patterson’s novel The Thomas Berryman Number, which follows a female FBI agent working who finds herself caught up between her biological and professional families. Rene Balcer, the writer and producer behind “Law & Order” will pen the pilot and work as executive producer with DuVernay, Robert De Niro, James Patterson and more.

Will you check this series out?
