Alexandra Shipp is certainly about that biopic life these days. The Aaliyah Princess of R&B star recently chatted it up with Hip Hollywood about her role in the forthcoming Ice Cube-produced Straight Outta Compton, which is a film based on hip hop group N.W.A. The 23-year-old actress will be playing Ice Cube’s wife, Kim Woodruff.
“For ‘Straight Outta Compton’ I play Kim, who is Ice Cube’s wife and his right-hand man,” Shipp explained. “I actually got to meet Kim, which was cool being able to meet someone you’re playing.”
In addition to the encounter assisting Shipp with her film role, the beauty also seemed pretty fond of Woodruff and her relationship with Ice Cube.
“She is the dopest woman ever and you can totally tell that she is his partner. What is so amazing to see about this couple is that they are each other’s cheerleader, they are each other’s business partner, they are best friends. They have the coolest kids, so sweet and funny.”‘
According to a description by Universal Pictures, the film will pick up in the 1980s “when five young men translated their experiences growing up into brutally honest music that rebelled against abusive authority, they gave an explosive voice to a silenced generation. Following the meteoric rise and fall of N.W.A., ‘Straight Outta Compton’ tells the astonishing story of how these youngsters revolutionized music and pop culture forever the moment they told the world the truth about life in the hood and ignited.”
