Image Source: Viacom Enterprises Its official. TV Land has pulled The Cosby Show‘s reruns off of the air. And it’s not the only show to be rocked by scandal and pulled off of the air. These sitcoms pulled from the air because of scandals were some of our favorite shows — until they went down in infamy.
Honey Boo Boo
There are a lot of questionable things about TlC’s Toddlers and Tiaras spinoff Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, and even fans who thought the show should have been cancelled a long time ago were shocked at what actually got Honey Boo Boo, Mama June and the rest of the family off of the air: a sex scandal.
TLC pulled the plug on the show in October of this year when the show’s matriarch Mama June started dating a convicted child molester.
Two And A Half Men
Two and a Half Men is still on the air, but many say the show was never the same since it’s central character Charlie Sheen #winning phase. Charlie went to rehab several times during filming, trashed the show’s creator during several interviews and was eventually let go in 2011.
Two And A Half Men hung in there for four more years until it was eventually cancelled this year in its 12th season.
Martin
Martin fans will always feel sort of sad about the way one of TV’s pioneering black comedies went off of the air.
In 1996, Martin was almost yanked off of the air mid-season after Tisha Campbell sued her co-star (and former lover Martin) for sexual harassment.
Luckily – after a sizable settlement from HBO – Tisha agreed to come back and do the two-part season finale. But the catch was that she refused to be on-set with Martin Lawrence, ending the series in one of the most awkward finales in TV history.
The Pee-wee Herman Show
The Pee-wee Herman Show was never actually cancelled. Paul Ruebens hadn’t made a new episode in several months when he was caught playing with Little Pee Wee in a public theater. But when the beloved show’s reruns were yanked from everyone’s Saturday morning line up, millions of 90s kids sure felt like it was.
106 And Park
It was the celebrity insult heard around the world. During one of 106 and Park’s last broadcast, Karreuche Tran delivered a tastless joke about Blue Ivy’s hair. Queen Bey herself got involved and after 14 years, 106 and Park went off the air and into a digital-only version.
Duck Dynasty
Not every TV show scandal results in cancellation.
Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson initially got the boot from his show when he told a GQ interviewer that homosexuality a sin and that black people were happy before the Civil Rights movement.
But when A&E kicked Phil off of the show, the rest of the Duck Dynasty family said they wouldn’t do he show wihout him. Then just a few months later, A&E put Phil back on the show even after he publicly announced that he stood by his statement.

Zoey 101
In 2007 Jamie Lynn Spears was on her way to becoming the next Solange. But then Britney Spears’ kid sister found herself 16-and-pegnant just before the 4th Season of Zoey 101 premiered.
The scandal rocked the tabloids, Nickelodeon quietly declined to film a season five and we javen’t seen much of Jamie Lynn since.

Hannah Montana
Miley Cyrus’ pot-stirring days actually started while she was Disney’s most-lucrative child star Hannah Montana.
During her last few years on the teen show, Miley posed nude for Vanity Fair at 15, got caught on film smoking Salvia divinorum and was called an anti-role model by half a dozen publication.
The show ended in 2011 and after Miley’s 2013 performance at the VMAs, parents urged Disney to end the Hannah Montana franchise once and for all. Miley shook of her good-girl image, Hannah Montana was gone and her very grown-up album Bangerz debuted in 2013.
Gossip Girl
Gossip Girl fans narrowly escaped cancellation when one of the show’s stars, Taylor Momsen, followed in Miley’s footsteps and grew out of the show.
At 16, Momsen posed half-nude on the cover of Revolver, announced that her vibrator was her best friend and was put on indefinite hiatus by The CW for purely “creative reasons.” And while fans were sad to see her go, they were glad to see the show go on.
Seinfeld
I don’t know about you, but watching Seinfeld reruns was never the same after Michael Richards’ racist meltdown at the Laugh Factory. It’s been 16 years since the show ended and 8 years since the scandal, but for some of us the disgraced show will always be a little hard to watch.
The Real Housewives’ Franchise
Things in TV Land aren’t always about cancellations.
If The Real Housewives’ Franchise is one of the most forgiving shows on TV. Cast members have been arrested for fraud, put in jail by the IRS, and even accused of child abuse.
But the cameras just keep rolling on one of our favorite guilty reality TV pleasures.
