The Running man, the Macarena, and Gangnam style are just a few of the dance crazes that will be part of our muscle memory forever. But we bet you forgot about at least some of these famous one-dance wonders.

We don’t know who’s more responsible for the Pee-Wee-Herman dance craze: Pee-Wee-Herman himself, or the NFL players who busted this move after nearly every touch down. One thing we do know is that The Pee-Wee Herman was one of the one of the silliest and most entertaining dances of the 80s.
Diddy Bop
Diddy’s music wasn’t the only thing that left it’s mark on the 90s. There was also the Diddy Bop. It was 90% swag, 10% shoulder movement and the go-to for anyone too cool to really bust a move. And let’s never forget that it came with it’s own video.
The Chicken Noodle Soup
The Chicken Noodle Soup was just as ridiculous as it’s name, but a lot of fun to do. The dance was simple: just hop and skip from side to side and move your arms. But the good part was adding your own flavor before you put your soda on the side. And you got bonus points if you could freeze when the song suddenly dropped.
The Jump On It
The Carlton might be the most iconic dance to come out of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, but we should never forget about Jump On It. It was originally associated with the Sugarhill Gang, but it was Will and Carlton who made it one of the funnest dances to do when you’re feeling goofy.
The Snap Dance
The Snap Dance was next in the line of too-cool-to-dance moves after The Diddy Bop went out of style with Bad Boy. Most people just called it the Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It after Dem Franchize Boyz made this minimalist dance their own on the song of the same name.
Walk Like an Egyptian
We can’t talk about dances nobody does anymore without remembering the most adorably cheesy of them all. Millions of 80’s kids did the Walk Like an Egyptian while The Bangles jammed in their Walkmans.
The Tootsee Roll
The Butterfly uh oh that’s old, let me see you Tootsee Roll. The Tootsee Roll was the 69 Boyz’ most lasting and radio-friendly contribution to the industry. And for some reason this was one of the hardest dances to teach to your rhythmically challenged friends.
The Kid N Play
All around the world, kids were rewinding their illegally recorded House Party VHS tapes trying to get this dance down. Remember the over the leg jump? Most of us only mastered that one on a trampoline or in the pool. 1000 extra cool points if you nailed Sidney and Sharane’s dance down too.
The Wobble
The Wobble was so viral that we were almost glad to have forgotten about it for a little while.
The Cha Cha Slide
The 2000s were definitely the line dance decade. DJ Casper had everyone from 13-year-olds at their first Bar Mitzvah to Chicago steppers doing The Cha Cha Slide. Do you still remember the moves?
Humpty Dance
The Humpty Dance is Digital Underground’s wacky stamp on the 90’s. And the only thing more fun than trying to “limp to the side like ya leg was broken” was singing the lyrics to this song.
The Jump
Let’s not forget that one of the world’s catchiest dances just involved jumping up and down. And it was brought to us by one of Hip Hop’s most famous little kid duo’s, Kriss Kross (uh-huh, uh-huh).
Superman
Everyone on the dance floor almost got too excited when Crank That (Soulja Boy) came on. But the trouble was, not everybody could figure out the right time to start. And that made doing this dance only slightly more fun than watching people slide into each other when they got it wrong.
The Shuffle
Berry Gordy’s kids, also known as LMFAO brought The Shuffle back from obscurity. It was originally a dance from the ’80s, but the Party Rock Anthem made it one of the official dances of the ’10s.
The Uh Oh
Beyonce has been at the head of so many trends, it’s hard to keep track. But the Uh Oh dance from Crazy In Love was one of the first to take us all by storm.
