He may have been singing about love songs in a sweet voice that could melt butter but there was nothing soft or sweet about D’Angelo’s appearance. The “Brown Sugar” singer regularly rocked cornrows in his hair while wearing his clothes extra baggy. But when he released the video for “Untitled (How Does It Feel),” his naked physique helped the song become his biggest hit. D’Angelo disappeared from the music scene and popped up years later in 2009. Since then he’s performed at festivals around the world and is working on a brand new album.
