We know you can’t get enough of looking at (or laughing at) celebrities in their throwback prom pictures. Therefore, we decided to hit you one last time with a flurry of photos of the stars (before they were stars) and their dates on the biggest night of their young lives. Let’s get to it!
Tamron Hall
Say what you want about petticoats, but Tamron Hall claims that at her high school prom, this huge pink gown helped her get voted “Best Dressed.” She went with her best friend, whose hairstyle was as tall as Hall’s…
Bruno Mars
I can’t get enough of Bruno Mars’ prom pics. There was the one from the year where he wore fuchsia with his date, but whatever year this is, he went to the Theodore Roosevelt High School prom in midnight blue and struck a very pimptastic pose for pics. As always, the curly fro was on point.
Charles Barkley
Looking sharp, Charles! The NBA hall-of-famer and sportscaster rocked a classic ruffled tuxedo shirt with his burgundy suit, while his date looked beautiful in white.
Bethenny Frankel
Long before Frankel was a Real Housewife or talk show host, she was embracing the puffy sleeve look of the ’80s (and the big puffy hair too), and she acknowledged it on Instagram: “who else rocked the 80s puff sleeved prom dress look?!”
Magic Johnson
These ’70s prom trends. Again, peep the ruffle tuxedo top on Johnson, and the fur neckline and the fur cuffs of his date. Let’s not bring these looks back please…
Frank Ocean
Frank clearly gave zero you know whats about his prom look. While his date threw on a heavily printed gown (and a corsage), Ocean wore one of those office short sleeve shirts (or just rolled up the sleeves) and a polka dot tie. But hey, at least he pulled out a smile for the pictures…?
Lil Flip
This one is for all my H-Town people. Before the braids, the tattoos and the grills (and my jam “Game Over”), Flip cleaned up nicely for the Worthing High School prom. Both the rapper and his date dressed up in their best shiny satin ensembles for their big night.
Matthew McConaughey
Alright, alright, alright! The Academy Award winner looked quite dapper at the Longview High School senior prom with his date. I’m still trying to figure out what material her top is (What is that, velvet!?) but they look cute nonetheless.
Kevin Garnett
I’m totally loving Kevin Garnett’s date’s dress. Sequin top? Satin skirt and shoes? Shirley Temple curls with a straight bang? She better do it! As for the very tall Garnett, he looked quite handsome alongside his very short lady.
Shaq
How cute is Shaquille O’Neal and his date?
Gwen Stefani
We haven’t seen Gwen Stefani this toned down in her looks since she became a huge star. Pink hair, braces, bleach blond locks, Harajuku Girls style–Stefani is known for keeping it colorful. But for prom at Loara High in Anaheim, surprisingly, she stuck with simple black. And did you notice that her date is No Doubt bassist (and ex-boyfriend) Tony Kanal?
J. Cole
I’m sure it’s hard to pinpoint which young man in this picture is J.Cole (sarcasm), but he posed it up with his boys from Terry Sanford High School at their senior prom.
Tiger Woods
Some things don’t change for Tiger. Hey, you were thinking it too. But big ups to his date for those flawless spiral curls.
George Clooney
Always the ladykiller, George Clooney took a very excited date to the senior prom for Augusta High School in Augusta, Kentucky. While she was all over him, as usual, Clooney couldn’t be tied down.
Ne-Yo
You see how he had the jacket slung over his shoulder? You couldn’t tell Ne-Yo nothin’ about his prom look and smize.
