Mimi had a rough childhood to say the least. If you’ve watched “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta,” you know that she ran away from her mother at the age of 13 after she converted to Scientology and Mimi didn’t feel comfortable following the new rules. During this time, she was estranged from her father but reunited with him at the age of 26.
Sadly, today Mimi wrote a small tribute to her father on Instagram, letting her followers know that he had passed away.
We’re certainly sorry to hear this. Losing a parent is hard for anyone, but particularly so when you didn’t have the best relationship. We definitely send our condolences out to Mimi.
Then, just as I was reflecting on her loss, wondering how she would take all of this, I go to her Twitter page and see there is some major drama going on with her and Stevie J. Just a few minutes ago, she posted this picture of a text message she received from someone she has listed as “Sperm Donor,” presumably Stevie J. It’s quite disturbing, even coming from Stevie.
She captioned the photo:
All of this because of a truthful radio interview I did about @hitmansteviej_1 not taking care of his daughter. Be careful who y’all praise. Don’t let the cameras fool you!! #TheDevilIsALiar
Whoa. Trust and believe, no one is out here praising Stevie J. We’ve always known he was an unscrupulous character. But this text message, is far more low down than we could have ever imagined…even coming from someone like him. It’s really hard to fathom, more less explain.
Apparently, folks on Twitter were trying to rationalize the text, attempting to point a finger at Mimi insinuating that since she made a sex tape and wasn’t perfect in the relationship, she somehow deserved this. Crazy, I know. Mimi responded:
We’re not particularly fans of either Stevie J or Mimi but wrong is wrong and honestly, I don’t even know how the sex tape or her parenting skills are relevant to the fact that she lost her father today and Eva, the daughter they share, lost her grandfather. And instead of Stevie J showing a shred of decency, he sends this message? What part of the game is that? How is today, or any day really, the time to threaten a life? I don’t know what the hell is going on with these two but it might not be a bad idea for them to step away from the cameras and the fame and get their lives all the way right… This is getting out of hand.
