Mama Joyce

Apparently, she’s still NOT feeling her daughter Kandi Burruss’ fiance Todd Tucker, but she’s trying to mend her relationship with her daughter. Still, she’s shown her behind on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” — so much to the point that she blamed Bravo for making her look bad. Yeah, OK! However, she’s still a meddling and overbearing celebrity parent. She’s shouted, thrown hissy fits and tried to fight her daughter’s best friend who she thinks slept with Tucker as he is a cheating opportunist in her eyes.

But she’s not alone! There are plenty of celebrity parents who are either overbearing, meddling or just flat out bad parents. MadameNoire has compiled 15 more celeb parents who have estranged relationships with their kids or will if they don’t stop acting so cray cray!

Momma Dee

Now we all know Lil Scrappy is a mama’s baby. But she’s definitely all up and through his love life. She wanted him to be with another woman instead of his former fiancee Erica Dixon. She wanted Shay “Buckeey” Johnson for her son and tried to make that happen! SMH! Maybe, she can find her own man. But I guess she got what she wanted sort of because Dixon and Scrappy did eventually break up.

Sister Patterson

Before Mama Joyce and Momma Dee, there was  the overbearing and meddling Sister Patterson, the mother of New York/Tiffany Pollard. She hated her daughter’s love interests and embarrassingly expressed it. She fought with Flavor Flav and contestants on New York’s shows about not being good enough for her daughter.

Joe Jackson

He can take some of the credit for pushing Michael Jackson into superstardom, but he also ruined his childhood. And as we now know, he was never able to recover. His abusive childhood had a huge impact on MJ as an adult when it came to altering his features and being a child-like man. After MJ became the greatest musical icon ever, Joe Jackson would hit his son up for money, but, when he died, MJ left his father out of his will.

Joe Simpson

The following quote makes him an overbearing, meddling and disgusting parent, “Jessica never tries to be sexay. She just is sexay. If you put her in a T-shirt or you put her in a bustier, she’s sexay in both. She’s got double D’s! You can’t cover those suckers up!” Ummm… sir, that is your daughter…

Matthew Knowles

He might have been overbearing in a good way when it came to pushing Beyoncé in the right direction as a pop star. But all his underhanded ways  built up and eventually came to light. He ruined relationships with various members of Destiny’s Child, cheated on her mother Tina — having a love child– and allegedly stole money from her. She dropped him as a manager and allegedly didn’t speak to him until daughter Blue Ivy was born.

Michael Lohan

Let’s get you straight. You call your ex-wife out for being a bad mother and using your children yet you’ve done nothing to help Lindsay Lohan. You’ve sold her out to tabloids and broke up the family due to alcohol and drug use? Meddling in her affairs won’t show her you’re there for her especially when the meddling feels like publicity.

Dina Lohan

But Lindsay Lohan’s mother, Dina, is no better than her father. She has used her daughter’s lifestyle for personal popularity and to gain her own reality show — exploiting the family’s life. She’s just as problematic.

Ryan O’Neal

He’s just a terrible father. He let his drug dealer molest his Academy Award winning daughter Tatum O’ Neal growing up. She was the victim of underage drinking, neglect and beatings. And her own drug addiction stems from her abusive childhood. It’s all in her book, “A Paper Life.” He was arrested for beating up her brother, Griffin and again after drug possession with his other son, Redmond. SMH!

Nadya Suleman

She’s a trifling mother of 14. “Octomom” exploited her children for fame, and then had to “show skin” in order to TRY and take care of her children. Their living conditions are said to be very poor. She should have at least used reality TV to better her children’s life by venturing into business deals, but no the want for fame is most likely having a less than positive impact on her kids.

Nancy Dow

She’s a meddling mother! One who damaged her relationship with daughter Jennifer Anniston over a tell-all-book. They have been on shaky ground for a while since the book “From Mother and Daughter to Friends: A Memoir” was published in 1999. The two made up a little in 2005 after Aniston’s divorce from Brad Pitt.

Alec Baldwin

So when you’re going through a nasty divorce, you put an insulting and  (disgusting) voicemail on your daughter Ireland’s phone. This makes absolutely no sense, but he claims the stress of the divorce caused him to record this, “I don’t give a damn that you’re 12-years-old or 11-years-old, or that you are a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the A$$ who doesn’t care about what you do as far as I am concerned.”

Kate Gosselin

She’s exploited the lives of her children on reality TV too on “Kate Plus 8.” Her oldest daughters went on the Today Show with her in a silent interview and we got a clear indication of the overbearing lifestyle of fame on her kids. Her ex-husband also called her out as being an overbearing parent — saying his kids are isolated and can’t really do much in their own house.

Jon Gosselin

He’s no better. He broke up his family through allegedly cheating and being spiteful. He tried to stop production on their show “Jon and Kate Plus 8.” His pettiness has been no better than his ex-wife exploiting their children. He definitely feels left out and is constantly trying to destroy his ex-wife in the media.

Courtney Love

Love took heroin during her pregnancy and did drugs throughout her daughter’s childhood. She lost custody of Frances Bean Cobain at 11. And her daughter has resentment towards her mother. It’s been war ever since over custody of her daughter. She tried to take away her daughter’s trust fund. Not helping, Love — you’re only being an overbearing (and yet still neglectful) mother.

Joan Crawford

She’s the ruler of overbearing, abusive parents. She was nice in front of the cameras — making her family seem perfect, but that was definitely not the case. She beat her daughter Christina and flat out tormented her. It’s the basis of her daughter’s book and movie to which she’s played by Faye Dunaway in 1981’s Mommie Dearest.
