Well, it’s official. Porsha Stewart is a single woman. Kordell’s attorney Shiel Edlin confirmed the news to TMZ earlier today. Interestingly, although Kordell is actually the one who filed for divorce, Edlin says , Kordell is “very disappointed” that his marriage fell apart because he “expected to be married for life.”

Edlin also addressed recent statements made by Porsha, which seem to have contributed to those vintage gay rumors about the former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback.

“For reasons we cannot understand, [Porsha] displayed a reckless abandonment of anything close to the truth over the last eight months,” said the attorney. “We are also hopeful that Porsha will stop villifying Kordell at every opportunity.”

In a statement to HipHollywood, Edlin also revealed that Porsha will be ditching her ex-hubby’s last name and “restoring” her maiden name.

“[Porsha] previously stated she was keeping Kordell’s last name, which made Kordell very concerned about the damage it could cause. However, she reconsidered and decided to restore her maiden name, Williams. Kordell now believes he can restore the Stewart name and brand, for which it has been known through many generations, one of character, integrity, honesty and truthfulness.”

This has been a rather speedy process. It hasn’t even been a year since Kordell’s March 2013 divorce filing . We assume that Porsha is relieved now that the divorce is finalized and she can officially move on with her life. Just last month she predicted that the ugly dispute would be coming to an end soon.

“We’re towards the end of the process. In the next month, it should be actually over, and hopefully Porsha Stewart will be turning fully into Porsha 5.0! [Laughs] Finally, I’ll have some closure and peace,” she said.

The former couple tied the knot in 2011. It’s probably inappropriate to congratulate someone on their divorce being finalized, so we’ll just say, best wishes!
