Most men tend to hide their feelings and emotions, but when a man is in love, you’ll know right off the bat. Even if he tries to hold back his feelings, rarely is a man ever able to successfully conceal being in love with a woman. If you’ve been in a long-term relationship that has grown and strengthened over the years, it’s likely that your guy is head over heels for you. But just in case you aren’t sure, here are 15 tried and true signs.

He’s said the magical three words
The tell-tale sign that a guy is in love with you is when he says those three words all woman want to hear. Of course, his actions should reflect these words, and if they do, you know for sure that his feelings are real. Men aren’t very emotional, and when a guy says he loves you, he probably really means it.

He loves PDA
He hugs and kisses you in public. He’s always grabbing for your hand when you’re out and about. When a guy shows you public displays of affection, it’s evidence that he’s proud to have you as his woman. It also shows that he’s protective of you and wants to show you physical affection aside from having fun between the sheets.

He respects you
Respect is important in any relationship, and most men try to live by the value of respecting a woman no matter what. However, if your guy deeply respects you, he probably does so because he’s in love with you. He always opens the door for you, treats you kindly, and even when you argue, the harsh words and name-calling never occur.

He’s always willing to compromise
Many men are stubborn and stuck in their ways. When a man is willing to compromise with you on things, you know you’ve found a keeper, and you know he’s in love with you. Love is known to make the heart and mind softer and more understanding. Instead of trying to be right, your man focuses more on doing right. He’s willing to meet you in the middle.

He apologizes
Fighting is important in a relationship and after a few fights, both of you will learn just how strong and bonded your relationship truly is. If your man is in love with you, he isn’t afraid to argue, nor is he afraid to say “I’m sorry.” Apologizing means that the fight is fair and when things get a little out of hand, he’s willing to admit to his mistakes and apologize.

He thinks about you a lot
Even if he doesn’t tell you so, you’ll know by his actions that you spend a lot of time on his mind. He texts, emails, and calls you throughout the day. When he’s busy at work, he still makes an effort to stay in contact with you as often as possible. Clearly you’re the first thing on his mind all day.

Rarely does he say “I”
Sometimes words are more than just words, and while you don’t want to read too much into things, sometimes little words can speak the world. Listen to how your man speaks. If he rarely says “I” but instead says “we” and “us,” it’s a sign that he’s falling for you. He’s no longer a single guy, but instead you’re now a part of him.

He’s put the bachelor lifestyle behind him
Apart from all but erasing the word “I” from his vocabulary, he’s also become less of a bachelor. Rarely is he going out to bars and clubs to hang out with the guys and check out the local eye-candy. Instead, guys nights consist of grilling and having a few beers. Friday and Saturday nights are no longer sacred nights for the men, but instead they’re nights he spends with you.

He goes out of his way for you
Even though he has a jam-packed day, he still squeezes in time to spend with you, even if it’s just an hour. If you’re at home and need something, he comes to help as soon as he can. When you have a busy day combined with a hectic schedule, he cooks dinner, lets your dog out, and takes care of things for you.

He’s bonded with your family, and wants you to bond with his
He wants to be a part of your family, and he wants you to be a part of his. When a guy not only introduces you to his family but wants everyone to bond and get along, it’s a true sign that his heart is going pitter patter for you. He’s proud of you and he wants his family to fall in love with too, and vice versa.

He takes care of you and wants to continue doing so
When you’re sick and in bed, you know that he’s taking the day off and is ready and willing to take care of you. If something of yours is broke, he tries to fix it. Whenever anything is wrong, he does his best to make things better. His efforts are meant to reassure and comfort you.

He knows you like a book
When a guy cares about you and loves you, he’ll take the time and effort to really get to know and understand who you are as a person. When you’re sad, he can pick up on it without you saving a word. He knows how to read your body language and he can really read you like a book. This shows that he wants to know you from the inside out and wants to be able to comfort you when you need it most, without asking questions.

He randomly gives you gifts
Apart from your birthday and your anniversary, your man buys you random gifts here and there, just because. Some days you come home to a vase full of beautiful roses. Other times he buys you a heart-felt card that tells you exactly how he feels. When a guy goes out of his way to buy you gifts, he loves you, and wants to show that he appreciates you.

A man who talks about a future with you is definitely one who is committed and deeply emotionally tied to you. He mentions getting married, having children, buying a home together, and so on. Anytime he mentions the future, you are always included or involved in some way or another.
