The not quite hot, not quite cold days of fall are here. And while you may want to break out the chunky knits and cozy fabrics you have ready and waiting, dressing for fall on those in between days can leave you with the sweats. So instead of looking like your post spinning class self or wishing you had layered up- follow these tips on dressing for work on these faux fall days.
Go scarf crazy
Scarves are the perfect fix-it for days that start out chilly and warm up by the time you take lunch. Buy some in basic colors like black and grey but also floral prints to make your basics pop. Rock one over a shell and pencil skirt when your blazer is too much to bear or add it suited set to break up the monotone.
Breathable fabrics
Silk or satin seem like a great idea until your Secret for Women realizes it wasn’t ready for an October heat wave. Invest in pieces like a sheer cardigan that can help on warmer days or under your office’s AC vent.
Be strip down ready
Want to rock your over the knee boots? Fine, but leave yourself with options because your cowl neck sweater will feel like a tunicate when the weather flips on you. Layering on top is a smart way to make sure you can tone down your look as the temperature goes up.
Be pretty girl tough
Pairing cool leather jackets with breezy dresses is a great way to mix to aesthetics and to remain versatile. Depending on the hemline, this outfit can perfect for the office. Let down your hair and go for a darker eye and you’ve got the right look for a dinner date as well.
