It’s the end of the week, Madames! Time to check in with our editors and see what they’re loving and not so loving about the week:

CHINA’S LOVES

All My Favorite Boys (Except Swizz Beats) Love: You already know I think Jay-Z is a good idea. But he, combined with Kanye, John Legend (and Swizz) on this “Power” remix gives me a headache.

Lauryn Love: Her leaked single, “Repercussions” hit the charts. It’s leaked and it’s hitting Billboard? So are you back or not, Lauryn; which is it?

Cornell Love: I don’t know what measuring stick U.S. News & World Report uses, but I had to give their new college rankings the side eye and show my first love some real love. I love you, Big Red

Baby Love: One of my cousins is having twins. I don’t think that’s like, ever happened before.

KWELI’S LOVES

Packing Love: I’m a notorious over-packer, so for my long weekend trip I tasked myself to focus on bringing only the items that I was sure I would need. If there is an absolute emergency and I really need something, there’s a Target or Walmart 10 minutes away, right?

Jazz Love: Went to see the George Coleman Quartet at Birdland in New York City this week. What a treat! It didn’t hurt that we were seated thisclose to the stage and could see and hear every nuance of the band. I definitely need more jazz clubs in my life.

“HawthoRNe” Love: In the why-aren’t-you-watching-this-show files, executive producer Jada Pinkett Smith stars as a take-no-prisoners head nurse in the TNT medical drama “HawthoRNe,” currently in its 2nd season. I hardly get to watch TV, so I caught up with a few episodes that I taped on my DVR. Her character, Christina, is a strong, smart, single mom (her husband recently died of cancer) fighting against declining patient care and hospital budget cuts.

Kate Spade Love: Her witty Fall 2010 online catalog is full of beautiful bags and great shots. Pretty looks for the season.

DANIELLE’S LOVES

R&B Love: Been playing Jazzy’s “Beauty and the Beat” mixtape all week. Got the pleasure of meeting the talented singer before her SOBs showcase.

Magazine Love: Still haven’t taken it out of the package yet, but I’m excited to check out the September issue of Vogue with Halle Berry on the cover. 726 pages of what to wear this season! I’m a fashion zombie.

Skin Love: Just ordered my beloved dermHa daily lotion today. Desperately need this product to keep my skin sane.

Quote Love: While writing the “Ten Best Teachers” piece I almost cried when I read this line from “Coach Carter”: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.” I’m a sucker for a good overcoming the odds movie.
