Actress Marsai Martin is reportedly dating NASCAR driver Rajah Caruth—and she’s loving the racer’s vulnerability and attentiveness. During a recent interview on The Breakfast Club alongside Black-ish co-star Anthony Anderson, Martin offered a few details about her relationship with 22-year-old Caruth.

When asked whether she needed her on-screen dad’s approval for her real-life dating choices, Anderson was quick to reveal details about the 20-year-old star’s new love interest.

“I met him, he drives one of them right there,” Anderson said at the 19:20 minute mark, as he pointed at a toy NASCAR vehicle in the studio.

Martin embarrassingly shouted, “Why’d you give a clue?!”

While the G20 star didn’t mention Caruth by name, she referred to her fast-rising boo as a “special person” who is “emotional,” “vulnerable,” and “understanding,” qualities she’s long been looking for in a partner and her dating life prior.

“He’s the best,” she continued. “He’s my patience, he’s my stability.”

Martin went on to add that vulnerability is the “utmost important thing” that she values in her relationship.

“A lot of men kind of lack vulnerability and being able to have that emotion to have this kind of stance of what a man should look like,” the beauty added.

According to The Atlanta Black Star, it’s unclear exactly when or how Martin and Caruth first met. The couple has kept their relationship largely private, but online reports suggest they’ve been together for at least a year. In May 2024, the pair sparked public interest when photos surfaced of Caruth affectionately kissing Martin on the head during the Wright Brand 250 race in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina.

Caruth, who was raised between Washington, D.C., and Brooklyn, New York, began his racing journey at 16. With the support of his family—who organized fundraisers to help him buy an iRacing simulator—he spent countless hours honing his skills in virtual racing. He even gave up his real driver’s license at one point to focus on competing in the eNASCAR Ignite Series.

His talent quickly gained recognition. Caruth was accepted into NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity program and started making history early in his career. In 2020, he became the first African American driver to win a late-model race at Greenville-Pickens Speedway. He went on to finish third in the ARCA Menards Series East standings in 2021 and moved up to the NASCAR Truck Series the following year. All the while, he pursued his education, earning a degree in Motorsports Management from Winston-Salem State University, graduating in December 2024.

The 2024 season was a breakout year for the superstar. According to his website, in March of that year, Caruth captured his first career NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) pole and victory at the Victoria’s Voice Foundation 200 held at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. With that win, he joined an elite group, becoming just the third African American driver to win a race in NASCAR’s National Touring Series, alongside Hall of Famer Wendell Scott and current Cup Series driver Bubba Wallace.

At just 22 years old, Caruth has compiled an impressive stat line: one win, two Cometic Gasket Pole Awards, and five top-five finishes—all personal bests.

Congrats to Marsai Martin!
