Looking to spice things up in the bedroom? You might want to pack your bags for Nevada, which has just been crowned the kinkiest state in America, according to a new study conducted by SmutFinder—an AI-powered platform that lets users craft custom erotic stories, the New York Post reported.

The study, released this month, analyzed data across five steamy categories: online searches for adult content, adult store interest, fetish-related search terms like “BDSM” and “pegging,” the number of OnlyFans creators, and strip clubs per capita. Nevada came in hot, ranking first for OnlyFans creators, second for adult store searches, and placing in the top 10 for fetish-related searches.

Not to be outdone, Sin City also scored above average in adult content interest and strip club presence.

Following Nevada were Colorado, Oregon, and Texas, with the Lone Star State proving its reputation for going big—even in the bedroom. Texas ranked third nationally in porn searches, seventh for OnlyFans creators, and above average in searches for adult shops, according to the San Antonio Current.

Wyoming, despite its small population, landed in fifth place thanks to its high number of strip clubs per capita and consistent performance across the other categories.

Interestingly, New York ranked 13th overall, suggesting that kink isn’t especially prominent in the Big Apple. However, the state stood out for its most searched kink: giantess fetish—a fascination with unusually large women. On the tamer end of the spectrum, New Jersey ranked dead last. Despite its proximity to New York City, the Garden State was the least kinky, with the lowest number of OnlyFans creators and minimal interest in adult content and stores. Other low-ranking states included Delaware, South Dakota, Maryland, and Rhode Island.

So, how were these kinky results uncovered you ask? SmutFinder’s kinky findings were discovered based on 15 months of data from the U.S. Census Bureau, Google Keyword Planner, and Only4Search, highlighting that where you live might say a lot more about your bedroom preferences than you think. A spokesperson from SmutFinder told the New York Post that the findings were collected to gain “better insight into where interest in adult content and experiences is most concentrated.”

They added, “These rankings aren’t about judgment; they’re about understanding. Whether you’re quietly curious or proudly adventurous, it’s fascinating to see how different regions express interest on their own terms.”
