Corey Pritchett Jr., a popular social media influencer and host of the Life With CoreySSG YouTube channel, is currently in custody facing charges of aggravated kidnapping following an alleged abduction in November 2024. Authorities say the YouTuber fled the country after the incident.

According to KHOU11, Pritchett, who has more than 4 million subscribers on YouTube, was formally charged on Jan. 23 with two counts of aggravated kidnapping for allegedly abducting and threatening to kill two women during a frightening incident on Nov. 24, 2024. At a court hearing on Thursday, a Houston judge set his bond at $200,000.

Prosecutors say that after the incident, Pritchett abandoned the women on the side of I-10 while speeding toward San Antonio and then fled to Qatar. The FBI reports that he booked a one-way flight to Doha Airport in Qatar on Dec. 9, 2024, KHOU11 noted. Pritchett was apprehended by authorities on Jan. 16 at a Houston airport upon his return to the U.S.

During Thursday’s hearing, Pritchett’s attorney requested a reduction in the bond amounts, but the judge denied the motion, citing concerns that Pritchett was a flight risk. Consequently, the bond remained set at $100,000 per charge, as prosecutors argued that Pritchett posed a significant risk of fleeing the jurisdiction. Per Click2Houston, Pritchett’s bond conditions include wearing GPS monitoring. He is also prohibited from contacting the victims, even if they attempt to reach out to him. Additionally, he must surrender his passport along with any other foreign travel documents. Lastly, he is banned from consuming alcohol or using any drugs, except those that are prescribed to him.

What happened on Nov. 24?

According to a criminal complaint obtained by Law and Crime, after meeting the two women at a Houston-area gym on Nov. 24, Pritchett took the ladies on an ATV ride with some of his friends and later spent time with them at a nearby bowling alley, according to the complaint. However, the situation took a dark turn as the day progressed. The women noticed that Pritchett and his friends were acting suspicious, frequently looking around, and they learned that Pritchett had a conflict with another group at the bowling alley, the complaint states.

After leaving the bowling alley for a prolonged period, Pritchett allegedly had one of his friends drive the women to meet him so they could retrieve belongings from his car. The meeting took place at a local supermarket, where Pritchett then offered to give the women a ride home. However, something seemed off about him at that point, the complaint alleges.

Rather than driving the women home, Pritchett is accused of heading in the “opposite direction,” entering westbound I-10 toward San Antonio at a dangerously high speed. According to the complaint, the woman felt that he was easily exceeding 100 mph. During the drive, Pritchett allegedly pulled a “gold-colored handgun” from the center console, waving it out of the sunroof while firing shots. Despite the women repeatedly asking to be taken home, Pritchett allegedly refused.

The complaint states that in an attempt to calm him down, the women suggested they pray together. Pritchett agreed, leading the prayer, but continued driving aggressively westbound on I-10 at high speeds.

“At one point, Pritchett allegedly told the women, ‘I’m going to f— y’all and then kill y’all,” before changing his mind and letting them go, per the complaint,” according to Law & Crime. He allegedly drove eastbound on I-10 toward Houston before dropping the women off on the shoulder of the highway. He fled to Qatar a month after the alleged kidnapping.

While in Qatar, Pritchett reportedly discussed the incident on his YouTube channel, sharing details of the alleged ordeal with his millions of subscribers.

“I kidnapped somebody, got them in the back of my truck. Send the FBI to come find me, I’m in Dubai, I’m running, I’m running,” he said, according to KHOU11.
