Most times when we think of our winter wardrobe natural hues and dark colors are the only things we assume we have to work with. Well not this season. While natural browns and ‘all black everything’ can be quite sophisticated and sometimes even Hot, this winter color and accentuated styles take precedence. So go ahead and keep your dark colors and solid prints but also add these key pieces to spice up your winter wardrobe.

Embrace Winter White

While most of us have gotten the memo that it’s okay to wear white after Labor Day, others are still skeptics. White is Hot, classic, and should not be limited to warm weather. Instead of rocking all black this season, try winter white for a more clean, crisp, and refreshing look.

Add Splashes of Color

It’s all about color this season! Bright oranges, bold reds, and electric blues are replacing navy, black, and dark brown attire. What’s even spicier?…Choosing to combine multiple bold colors, also known as color blocking. This trend has graced the runways and is one of those runway styles that is easy to duplicate. Go ahead, be bold!  Don’t be scared of color.

Tights and Leggings

Tights allow us to rock dresses and even shorts during the winter. They keep us warm while not compromising our style. Now available in an assortment of colors, you can even utilize tights or leggings to give you a color block effect.

Add A Bit of Sequence

Sequence was once thought to be worn at formal events; but now even the most casual ‘fit can be worn with sequence. Sequin blazers have become staple items this season, replacing the staple black blazer. A sequin blazer or top can even be worn with jeans for a more casual look.

Rock a Bold Lip

Adding a bit of color to your makeup is an easy way to spice up your winter wardrobe. Put away the natural hues and opt for a bright orange or hot fuchsia lip color. A bold lip color can be worn with almost anything, adding a hint of color to your winter ‘fit.

Hats

Besides layering, hats are one of the great fashion benefits of winter. As young girls the thought of wearing hats to protect our heads from the cold was almost worst than rocking pigtails once we felt we were old enough to wear our locks down. Now hats are a stylish way to spice up a wardrobe. From large winter floppy hats to classic berets, there are an eclectic mix of hats to choose from for every outfit.
