Kenya Moore and her husband of two years, Marc Daly, have decided to go their separate ways.
According to statements the couple released to PEOPLE, the separation comes less than a year since Moore and Daly welcomed their daughter Brooklyn Doris Daly on November 4, 2018.
Both Kenya and Marc provided statements to PEOPLE.
“It is with profound sadness that I regret to inform my fans that I am divorcing my husband Marc Daly. Due to recent and ongoing circumstances, I can no longer continue in the marriage. My sole concern and focus is and will always be my daughter, Brooklyn, my miracle baby. She was made in love and true commitment. I ask for our privacy to be respected moving forward.”
Daly said, “I have come to the difficult decision to separate from Kenya at this time. Our daughter has two parents that love her very much and in her best interests, this situation should remain as private as possible. I cherish our family’s good times together and will continue to co-parent in a loving way. Rumors, innuendo or false accusations only serve to hurt our family and will be addressed through counsel as the law permits. Please respect our privacy during this challenging period.”
The news may come as a surprise to some considering the two have been seen out and about together very recently. They were together at a benefit on Tuesday night in Atlanta.
Monday, the family appeared on “The Tamron Hall Show” to discuss their process of conceiving through in vitro fertilization. As they mentioned on the show, this was a rare television appearance for Daly who never appeared on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
Moore and Daly’s union always had the quality of a whirlwind romance. The two met in June 2016 but didn’t begin dating until December of that year.
By June 2017, they were tying the knot.
After their first date, Moore said, “I probably would have married him in 30 days, the feeling was that strong. But we wanted to wait and get to know each other and make sure it wasn’t an infatuation. We needed to make sure it was actually real.”
It seems that despite the ending of their relationship, the couple are committed to remaining active co-parents to their daughter.
Kenya said that Daly, who has two children an adult and a teenager from a previous relationship, is a great father.
“He has been the best father. He changes her diaper. He even tried to dress her one day. He lays her on her stomach and they watch TV and just hang out together. He talks to her the whole time. He really has been the most incredible doting dad. It just makes me have more respect for him.”
