TV is so good these days, it’s not hard to get invested in the characters. Still, the mature among us recognize that the people who portray the characters we either love or loathe are just that, people playing characters. As much as these shows may reflect reality, they are not real. But for as long as we’ve been telling stories, there are some who still fail to grasp this concept.

We’ve seen it happen over and over again. And most recently, “13 Reasons Why” actress Grace Saif was the most recent victim.

According to Shadow and Act, Saif portrays Ani Achola on the Netflix show. “Achola” is a new student at Liberty High School, where the show takes place. Apparently, she’s teamed up with another villainous character on the show Bryce and the two are apparently acting up. So much so that fans have accused Saif for ruining the trajectory of the show.

Because they don’t like her character, they have directed their irritation toward Saif personally as opposed to the writers and producers of the show.

As a result of the backlash, Saif deleted her social media accounts. She left without announcement so we don’t know if the bullying was the reason but her fellow cast member, Timothy Granderos seemed to confirm that in a recent Instagram post of his.

What’s particularly ironic about all of the cyber abuse is the fact that “13 Reasons Why” Is a show about the effects of bullying. Tragic.
