During the summer, the frizzy curly hair struggle is so real.
Dealing with puffiness, frizz, and hair that just won’t tame or stay defined in the heat are things are things that can drive any woman rocking natural curls bezerk. We’ve already discussed the essentials you need in your beauty arsenal while vacationing in Miami, which has humidity like few other places I’ve visited.
But while I was attending shows at Miami Swim Week at W South Beach and beyond, I also got the lowdown on the anti-frizz and anti-humidity products hairstylist Tymica Martin swears by, not just for the Miami heat, but for dealing with humidity anywhere. She was on hand during the week styling models’ hair for Sports Illustrated swim week events, The Black Tape Project fashion show, and more, and relied on five key products to make sure their locks were runway ready.

Mizani Humidity Resistant Spray, $10.99
The Sports Illustrated show and other events were outside, so to make sure the models’ hair didn’t succumb to the elements, Martin also relied on Mizani Humidity Resistance Spray ($10.99, walmart.com). “It can be used [on hairstyles] from curls to smooth styling to help repel that unwanted moisture in air and from our scalps,” she said.
