Prepare to be electrified this season. Neons will be taking over. From swimwear to red carpet looks, celebrities are showing love to the loud colors in a ‘go bold or go home’ type of way. Just last week, Jordyn Woods posed in a neon green two-piece bikini. Model Chanel Iman wore a neon green Alex Perry mini dress to the WeWork Creator Global Finals. But the look everyone is talking about is the gorgeous frock that activist Janet Mock wore on the red carpet of the Daily Front Row LA Fashion Awards. She dressed in a simple neon green dress with a slight mermaid hem by Christian Siriano. This ensemble shows us just how fun and classy bold colors can be on the red carpet. If you’re trying to land this look for less, take a gander at some affordable options.

This sleek lime green ribbed strappy midi dress ($18.00, Missguidedus.com) is a dead ringer for Mock’s Siriano dress. The simplicity of it makes it good enough to hit the red carpet despite it’s $18.00 price tag. Mock styled her dress with a pair of simple, black Christian Louboutin single-sole sandals. Save a few hundred dollars by wearing the Loveliness Black Suede Ankle Strap Heels ($31.00, LuLus.com).

For the girls with the curves, this Plus Size Surplice Tulip Hem Maxi Dress ($28.00, Forever21.com) offers the same idea as Mock’s dress with a side of leg action. For this look, I’d pull out a pair of strappy printed sandals like the Sane Leopard Heels ($89.00, SteveMadden.com).

Neons are trending like crazy for the spring and summer seasons. Pulling key pieces together like tank tops, bodycon dresses, or accessories like sunglasses will help you sample the trend without being overwhelming. Stars like Janet Mock, Chanel Iman and Jordyn Woods give tasteful inspiration on how to rock the look. It also looks great against all shades of melanin and will be sure to help you make a head-turning entrance. What do you think? Will you be adding neon garb to your spring and summer lineup?
