Cushnie - Runway - February 2019 - New York Fashion Week: The Shows

With her dreamy jewel tones, lush deep velvet hues, and splashes of florals, Carly Cushnie showed on the third day of Fashion Week with a runway full of looks we can’t wait to rock next fall.

The London-based designer, who was heavily pregnant behind the scenes of the show, brought it once again, sending models down the runway in shimmery satin mini dresses, plunging velvet gowns, sleek cut-out jumpsuits, and many more covetable pieces. We fell in love with her monochromatic combos – pastel-hued satin tops tucked into high waist trousers and topped with furs – and stopped and stared when models sashayed down the catwalk in her jewel-toned satin gowns.

Cushnie’s Fall/Winter 2019 show marked the brand’s second NYFW show following Michelle Ochs departure in 2018, when the brand shifted its moniker from Cushnie et Ochs to simply Cushnie. And it’s safe to say the fashion designer has not only made the transition seamlessly, but has elevated the brand in the process.

Our takeaway from the runway? Don’t ditch your velvet, bring out the satin, and get ready to make a statement with pops of color of your furs.
