There is never a shortage of men—particularly Black men— offering opinions about how Black women behave incorrectly in relationships. Never mind the lack of accountability and examination of what they may be doing wrong.
Today’s example came from Twitter user “Nerd” offered this up.
There are so many issues here. The assumption that all Black women want wigs and purses.
The idea that because she wants these things she’s materialistic, vain and not concerned with the spiritual aspect of her life.
The suggestion that he knows best when it comes to what he should get a woman he’s dating.
And the inconsideration it takes to know what someone wants and go out of their way to get them what you want, instead. Because you believe you know what’s best for them.
No thank you, sir.
There are more than a few issues here and God bless the women, Black, White and anything in between, who were able to spot the gig before they get in too deep.
And naturally, there were women who let Nerd know that it wasn’t Black women, it was his own lack of self awareness that made him less than a respectable prospect.
