Officials Consider Zoning Changes for Churches
(TribLocal) — In the midst of a debate over changing zoning requirements for religious institutions in certain districts, Evanston Alderman Ann Rainey recently led a group of pastors and city officials on a tour along the block of Howard Street where she says too much religion has been bad for business. A lack of zoning scrutiny has allowed several storefront churches to set up shop along the street, according to the 8th Ward alderman. She said that has caused businesses to stagnate.
