If you thought Tamar wouldn’t have any messiness to contribute to the “Braxton Family Values” storyline now that she’s no longer appearing on the show, you thought wrong. Earlier this week, we reported that the Braxton sisters were essentially on strike from the show as they attempted to negotiate their contracts to receive more money.

But in the midst of this reality tv show activism, they either forgot to tell their sister Traci—or she realized she’d rather collect a check instead of nothing at all. And apparently, she tapped a friend to appear with her: Ms. Phaedra Parks.

In an interview with “Good Day New York,” Phaedra and Traci sat down to confirm that the former peach-holder was joining the show, going on adventures with Traci.

Traci said, “Phaedra and I we’ve always been in crossing of seeing each other. So when, you know, the show was on a little hiatus, I…”

Host: “You mean when they walked out…”

Traci: “I continued to work and Phaedra was contacted and Phaedra was like, ‘Of course, Traci, I would love to do some adventures with you.’ So we got together and we’ve been having a ball since.”

Host: So you were thinking about doing your own show with Phaedra is that it, while the family was taking a break from one another?

Phaedra: Weeellll, we just knew a DMV Diva and a Southern Belle Sweetie would cause a lot of chaos. So we’re all about it.

Host: At a cattle ranch?

Phaedra: At a cattle ranch.

Host: With Flava Flav

Phaedra: With Flava Flav and New York. Winks.

Traci: And also Kim.

Phaedra: Kim Whitley. So honey, it’s a Motley Crew

Host: And some antics, I would imagine.

Host: So what happens when the sisters find out what you two are up to…they’re like, ‘We’re going back to work!’

Traci: Well that’s not how it happened. What had happened was…I don’t get into their business and they don’t get into mine. So they decided they were coming back. I don’t know what else is going on. They’re only my sisters. When you put a lot of business things in a mixture of a family setting, it tends to be messy. You understand what I’m saying.

Host: Are you guys ok as a family?

Traci: We’re fine as a family. We talk, we giggle, we laugh. We just don’t talk about business. Talking about business right now is not…

Host: But you and Toni and planning the wedding, you’re involved?

Traci: Oh yeah, everything.

Host: But you’re not going on the road with them to sing.

Traci: No. But I have my own thing going on. I have a new album coming out this Friday, On Earth.

Chile. I’m less interested in what the Braxton sisters are doing than I am to see Flava Flav and New York reunite. I’m geeked.

But Tamar didn’t seem to share that excitement and she hopped on Instagram to share some shade directed toward Phaedra.

Towanda: She’s not a Braxton.

Tamar: Who’s not a Braxton Toward? Who? Phaedra Braxton’s not a Braxton? Let’s do a toast to the Braxton wannabes.

Towanda: Everybody wants to be a Braxton.

Tamar: I feel them, you oughta. Cheers. May the show be funny and great, which it’s not.

[Insert eye roll emoji.]

I think we’ve all seen enough of the Braxtons to know we should appreciate our own lives. When The Shade Room posted Tamar’s toast, people were going in on her in the comment section. So she made another video responding. And as usual, she brushed it off as a joke.

Tamar: I have nothing against Phaedra. It was a joke. I called her Phaedra Braxton because you’re doing promos for “Braxton Family Values” and you’re not a Braxton. And that was just…the gist of it. And I’m going to always ride for my sisters and for my family. Everybody has made mistakes in the past. Everybody has said some things that they shouldn’t have said. However, when that happens one day you come to realize that it’s just that one thing that brings everything back together. And so no, no one is supporting it. No one’s watching it. No one’s shooting it. No one wants anything to do with it because it’s a lot of disrespect.

Let me break this down for y’all, us regular folks. If you decide tomorrow that you’re not going to show up for work, you better believe that they will replace you. Time keeps on ticking, shows have to be produced and replacements were called. That’s the way of the world. The network had to fill that slot. Stop playin’. Phaedra is free right now. Badda bing, badda boom. Problem solved. But the gag is, all this talking about not being a part of the show, just serves as more promotion and might cause people to tune in to see what the newest additions to the show will be doing. After all, far more people probably saw Tamar’s antics than the people who watched Traci and Phaedra’s appearance on “Good Day New York.”

And on another note, given the way the family has iced Traci out of more than a few opportunities—leaving her behind once she got pregnant, but letting Trina continue to perform when she found herself in a similar situation, removing her from the tour with Toni and Tamar, and the latest incident with this strike—I can only assume that this time she thought, ‘Let me go for mine.”
