(Black America Web) — The day after approximately 2,000 delegates attending the 101st NAACP convention in Kansas City, Mo., voted unanimously to adopt a resolution which condemns the blatant acts of racism being displayed by members of the Tea Party movement, NAACP leadership and others downplayed the controversy as “being focused on by the media.” We passed 75 resolutions in session,” said NAACP President Benjamin Todd Jealous, “but only one is being focused on by the media. There were 16 on criminal justice. There were more than a dozen on the issue of education. I gave a 42-page speech, half of one page addressed the Tea Party, and that is all everyone has talked about.”
