The streets are blocked off, the stylists are on call, and the red carpet has literally been rolled out. The first Monday in May is here. But while the arrival of the Met Gala brings daring, avant-garde looks that dominate the fashion press for weeks afterward it doesn’t offer much in the body diversity department.
After vocalizing her displeasure at designers’ reluctance to dress her famed plus-size model Ashley Graham arrived at the 2017 Met Gala in custom H&M but when it came to plus-size women she was solo on the carpet.
