(Chicago Sun Times) — The Illinois Supreme Court says it’s constitutional to punish underage drinkers by taking away their driver’s license, even when the offense has no connection to driving.

The court ruled Thursday that Illinois lawmakers made a reasonable link when they decided to use driver’s licenses as punishment for underage drinking. The court says someone who drinks illegally might wind up driving drunk.
