Traditionally, the Oscars hasn’t been our thing — you know a place where African American talent is recognized and rewarded. But as we slowly creep further and further from the Oscars being so white, Black people’s excellence — and beauty– continues to shine even brighter.
This year, we think there might be a Wakanda effect happening because Black folk looked even more beautiful than ever — and we’re not just talking about the movie’s cast. Every brown person on the carpet had a special, unapologetic glow about them and we’re just happy to live in a time where we can witness this moment.
