Actor Columbus Short can’t seem to get it together. The former Scandal star seems to repeatedly invite drama into his own life off set and has struggled with alcohol and anger issues in the past. TMZ now reports the actor will spend a year in jail after recently entering a no contest plea in Los Angeles as a result from his arrest in November of last year.

Prosecutors stated that Short hit his wife Aida Abramyan during an argument which resulted in the 35-year-old receiving 36 months probation and domestic violence education. However, the actor was already on probation for assaulting a stranger in a 2014 bar fight as well a previous incident in which he put a knife to an ex -Tanee McCall’s throat. Therefore the judge determined that due to his current probation status, his sentence would be increased to serving a year in jail.

Although evidence of Short’s anger management issues have surfaced time and time again, his wife maintains that their marriage is healthy and took to social media to share her belief that the media is sending false messages about her spouse:

Hopefully Short will take this opportunity to work on himself so he can find a better way to process his feelings. His past record doesn’t offer much hope. The Stomp the Yard actor served a week in jail in 2016, after failing a drug test and violating his previous probation.
