Shemar Moore is such an interesting character. He went from 90’s heartthrob to making out, tongue included, with all types of women, from soccer moms to Sweet Brown, on national television.
It’s odd.
But for some reason, people started to take Moore’s quirks to mean that he was less than our expectations of masculinity. And you know how it is. When a Black man doesn’t present in the way we think men should, we immediately assume that it says something about their sexuality.
So folks started calling Shemar gay.
He then went on a “0-100 real quick” rant about all of the conversations.
After that, it seemed that people stopped talking about it. But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t on Shemar’s mind anymore.
This past weekend, Moore attended The Grammys with a woman on his arm. This is out of the norm for Moore who usually arrives solo or with his mom. But this time, he was with fellow actress, “Quantico” star Anabelle Acosta.
Shemar thinks his attending with Acosta set the record straight about his personal life.
“They’re tired of seeing me and momma on the carpet. If this boy doesn’t bring somebody other than his momma… We gon’ call him gay until he brings a pretty girl. I was like, ‘Alright, you know what…’ to prove I could do it, I wrote an email. She hit me back and we got your attention on the red carpet.”
Turns out, Moore campaigned for Acosta’s time. He told his coworkers if they could get her email address, they would get two trips and round-trip tickets to Las Vegas. Moore said he went back to his creative writing days, in college, to convince her.
Still, Moore says that he’s still single. They’re just homies and haven’t even kissed yet.
