(Chicago Sun Times) –A joint City Council committee today urged Chicago to join Cook County in “prospectively” boycotting Arizona-based companies to protest that state’s tough new immigration law.
Chicago’s 189 red-light cameras were installed by Arizona-based Redflex Traffic Systems. In addition to the cameras, the company put in road sensors and software and maintains the system. It also mails out the photographic evidence and $100 tickets that generated $48 million in revenue in 2009.
