It feels like just yesterday that Idris Elba introduced his daughter to the world at the red carpet premiere of, interesting enough, Tyler Perry’s Daddy’s Little Girls. That was back in 2007.
Now, more than a decade later, Isan Elba has turned 16, and with the help of her famous father, was able to ring in her sweet sixteenth festivities in the most epic fashion. Videos from the big party showed Isan making an entrance in a white dress (she changed into another one later) with a sheer white hooded cape. Idris was by her side in all white (with a hint of red on his head) to help her celebrate a milestone year:
The party included a performance by the rapper YFNLucci, who Isan hopped on stage with, alongside friends, and danced and rapped to. The rapper would later pose with the birthday girl and her parents:
As for papa Idris, days before the big event, he gushed over the teen on her birthday, sending a heartfelt message about how she changed his life for the better, and reminding us that her name, Isan, is an Indian name meaning “long-awaited gift bearer”:

Isan is definitely growing up to be a gorgeous young lady, and a helpful one too. Idris recently shared that his daughter keeps him hip (“She told me Snapchat is no good“) and humble.
“She loves me but she tells me to calm down a little bit,” he told Jimmy Fallon last year. “She thinks I’m trying to be cool all of the time and I’m like, I am cool.”
